Lenny had heard that the great Italian writer/poet/sculptor/military hero/political leader - had been a colourful character, rather eccentric and a bit of a 'dandy' - bit like himself??!! - so he went to the Vittoriale in Lake Garda to get some inspiration for his own 'military' writings and works that he is called upon to do??!!
